Dental Implant

A dental implant is an artificial dental “root” in which a permanent tooth or teeth can be built upon. Dental implants are a perfect choice for those patients who have lost a tooth or teeth due to periodontal disease, trauma or a variety of other reasons. Dental implants allow for tooth or teeth replacement without having to use neighboring teeth for support. The end product mimics “regrowing” of the lost tooth or teeth.

Dental implants can replace teeth without using adjacent teeth for support. They offer a permanent or cemented solution rather than perhaps another option of having a removable appliance. Dental implants can also be used with full dentures to snap or lock them in place for more stability or can be a means to screw a complete denture into place permanently. Our office has a terrific referral system to get you to an implant placement specialist nearby. Once the implant has been placed, our office is notified as to when we can build you your final product, whether it be a crown, bridge or denture. Once you have a dental implant as well as the final restoration, we will instruct you on how to properly care for your implant. Our hygienists have special implant cleaning tools which are used during your routine dental cleanings.
